Default Windshield date codes

I believe I've got the windshields decoded but the previous "Thread M44?" I doubt will get much traffic so I'll just add the dates and information here!

The M44 I believe is an LOF style identifier and the date code is in the line above and to the right and a two letter code. Mine is GJ and from some previous glass ID's it seems the G is month which using previous decoding should be April. I've not confirmed the year yet with the J but I'm close!

Month codes likely:

January N
February X
March L
April G
May J
June I
July U
August T
September A
October Y
November C
December V

I believe I've got the year codes:
1990 - G
1991 - J
1992 - A
1993 - Z
1994 - X
1995 - V

If your code doesn't match these I believe I've got it figured out and could likely date the manufacture of your replacement glass. Could a couple people confirm their codes with the information I've posted. It could be in error but I'm quite confident. I'm sure you'll let me know!

NCRS manual agress, and even though the 94-95 are blank for the years, it will follow the pattern you posted.

Mine is AG (september 90) for 1991 #618. What do you have for my build date?

Are you saying that if the area above and slightly right of the LOF number (M44 in this case) is blank (no numbers showing) it is a '94 or '95 produced windshield?

What size window is in your glass? That could be an indicator of the delamination problem that never seemed to go away. There were very large runs of original production in '91 that left inventory available into '93 MY. Interesting! It might be interesting to see how far into the '93 MY the GJ production run goes. Some '94/'95 information would be interesting as well. What size window is in your glass?

I've never had a NCRS manual in my hands and I just extracted what I believe correct information from some previous LOF production broadcasts.

No I don't believe that's what Jeff meant. What is yours?

No, the NCRS manual only covers 90-91 cars. They included the 92-93 codes, but the 94-95 were left blank in the book.

Extending the production information I would assume yours is a "service glass" from March of '97. Do you know if it is a service glass and has been replaced?

the cutout is approx. 4.75" accross the top, 5.25" accross the bottom & 4.25" tall from the black band.

The p.o. told me it had been replaced but when we got down to the last mouldings and sealers they look very original. Even the glass shop guys said the sealant looked original. However, the glass itself is virtually flawless on its surface. That would seem unlikely for a 17 year old, 110K mile windshield.

I still need a source or reference for all the small trim/sealer pieces. My local dealership doesn't know squat.
