Will My Z Be Worth Less.....
If I have a different radio CD put in without changing the counsul in any way .As long as I keep the original radio. Would that depreciate my 90 Z . It wouldnt keep me from buying a car that I like....Z VETTE My radio hasent worked since I bought it..over 3 yrs. now.

No Pull it out put it in a bag and store it. As long as you dont cut the Radio trim bezel or the factory harness its all good. Enjoy your car and if you change you mind you can always put it back to stock.

Unless the CD player is toast as well. Usually the amps in the speakers go first. That were the snap crackle and pop sounds come from.

You can send the radio off if the cd is toast. The fix aint too bad, price wise. Selling a Z or any vette for that matter, with an aftermarket radio tends to shy away alot of folks.

Pull it all out now while you are not driving it, send it to Dr. Don's and have it all working by driving time.

When the factory system is working as it should, it pretty much beats anything else you can put in there, especially with the speed sensitive volume control.

You really want to wait until you prep the car for the sale before you do the radio "fix". With the "fix" comes a 1 year warranty I believe from DR D and maybe longer on the amp fixes. You've then got something to offer the "prospective buyer", the invoice for the recent repair!!!!
Electronics don't actually store that well, age is tough on them powered or not. Some say it's much better to use them consistently rather than stow them away. I really don't know!
I actually get along quite well with my Bose but maybe that's because some of the "listening material" is as "aged" as the equipment!
