So I take the seats out to do a good spring cleaning under them
The drivers side fights me bc the relays wont come through the seat
Finally get that out and take the seat out and as I am vacuuming the carpet seams it is wet under the carpet on the drivers side
I take the carpet out which thankfully is easy and the floorbourd is soaked under the carpet
Probably just a weather strip seal but DAYUM
same thing happened to me except on the passenger side. had to leave car parked outside about two weeks and floorboard got soaked. i dried it out and put it back in the garage. still do`nt know why as i`m waiting for more time and warmer weather. also i`m adding on to my garage and thats taking all my extra time right now. James, ride down to Iuka some time and lets compare these drownded beauties.
Make sure the floor boards didn't rust out
Quick fix ! I stil can't figure why that car hasn't sold ? Great color great price......
What do you mean "quick fix"
There actually was some rust on the floor but it came from a piece of metal that had worked its way under there
Carpet is out of the car and it is sitting in the sun drying out
Car and carpet
I had a similar problem with my '84 years ago and couldn't figure out the source of water leak for the life of me. This was back when the Corvette Action Center was still at the Bowling Green plant. Many calls to Jerry Watts ensued but the problem persisted. He finally got an engineer off the floor specializing in water leaks to help solve the problem.
There are two drains on either side of where the hood seals to the cowl(where the inlet vent to the defroster is, below the windshield wipers). Over time, these drains get clogged and the silicone that seals that lip to the cowl dries up/cracks and starts seeping down behind the battery(and even behind the air box for the heat/ac on pass. side). The bulkhead connector for all electronics go through the cowl and into the pass. compartment(just above the drivers side floor). This is the source of the leak(at least, I'm pretty sure it is)
Water soaks the padding underneath the carpet, which wicks up through to the carpeting. There is a heat shield/foam type material that you'll need to cut to get to the area around the bulkhead connector. Spraying water on the area from above should verify where the leak is coming from. By cleaning out those drains and re siliconing the cowl to hood seal, it could solve your problem.
The other possibility as you already outlined could be a bad door seal. Sometimes the door rubber deteriorates where it 'seals' to the windshield rubber(near the a pillar/ door hinge), causing a leak.
ZRwon is correct it was the drain tube but it doesnt look like it ever drained through the firewall
It was stuck to it but there is no hole
I put the tube through the hole on the side in front of the dr side speaker
It looks like it drains through the rocker and appears to work until I find out what it is supposed to do
Jeez...that sucks. Someone had his/her head up their azz in Bowling Green that day. Was your car built on the same day as the OJ Verdict or something
My car was born on 4/20/94
What is this OJ thing?
Anybody got a pic of the hole that tube goes into?>
When looking at that pic there would be a hole to the left behind where the tube is touching the sill piece .
Is this the hole the tube drains through?
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
