GS wheel is 50MM,Z wheel is 36MM.Ask me how I knowThere, now Im only stupid in one post.To use OEM A-Molds you need to do some work to get them to fit correctly but the way I see it,you can have fakes or you can have the real deal.
GS wheel is 36MM,Z wheel is 50MM.Ask me how I know
How do you know?
FACT: Difference? 14mm
ZR-1 production 17 X 11 wheel offset is +36mm!
GS production 17 X 11 wheel offset is +50mm!
Documentation is "all-over" the place and I'll leave it at that! Jeff knows all to well after struggling with spacers to correctly mount GS wheels on his ZR-1!
I am looking to get an extra set of wheels for my Z.
Thanks.
I would like to find an extra set of wheels also. I would prefer used wheels and this seems to be a difficult challenge due the the ZR-1 rear wheel offset. Ebay has tons of ZR-1 wheels but most of them have the GS (50mm offset). I love the look of Fikse wheels but I have yet to find a set of used wheels like these. Black chrome ZR-1 after market wheels look great, but not sure how they would look with Admiral Blue. The search continues..........

I purchased a set of A-molds in black from Factory Reproductions with the correct ZR-1 offsets. The price is good and the wheels I received are very nice quality. They also have chrome and silver.
Fronts are just +56mm but all of that information is in the first link I posted. Check the link and do some research on your own to satisfy yourself of the results and then just shop! It really seems your not "prepared" yet and there's substantially more you can learn "searching on your own" and then returning with more direct questions!
There are wheel builders that build "close" to factory offsets and it's relatively easy to determine the fit yourself. If you've found a particular wheel you like get the specs from the builder and post the wheel model and the specs passed on to you by the builder. Likely someone has/had the set-up and can offer assistance regarding the fit.
There's not really a "generalization" that can be tossed out there regarding wheels.
If you replace your 17X10 (36mm) offset ZR1 wheels with 17X10 (50mm offset) Grand Sport wheels you will lose 14mm's of clearance on the inside of the rim and the outside edge will of the wheel will retract 14mm into the wheel well.
14mm is .55" or a little more than 1/2 of an inch.

If you want OEM GS wheels you have to use spacers and longer wheel studs.Ive got the spacers as well as the longer studs, haven't had a chance to get them on the car yet.Like I said,it is a job to get them to fit right but how many people have OEM GS wheels on there cars? The spacers were $170 and the longer wheel studs were $ 20 I think.WVZR1 got me the info on the spacers and studs...............Thanks Dave.
I just got done replacing my Wheel bearings..
I added the longer studs and 20mm Spacer for my GS wheels (aftermarket) but still 50mm Offset.. I need to get some pictures
I have a set of aftermarket GS offset wheels I would like to put on my 95 ZR-1 during winter storage. Do you think that they will fit for that purpose or are the studs too short to hold?

I think the aftermarket wheels are built to ZR-1 specs, but could be wrong.
I believe the wheels fit fine in terms of not rubbing, it's just they look pretty dumb as they are sunk in the wheelwell. Though I've never run GS offset wheels, so it's a guess.
