Default Under the Plenum

Has anyone used the Haibeck Under the Plenum Service DVD, I need to replace my plugs and coil pack and I am sure my vacum hoses. I was going to have the repairs done by a shop but I need to take advantage of the Plenum removal to get in there and do some cleaning, I turn a decent wrench but not a Pro, am I in over my head.

No I dont think you are in over your head at all. You could do it without the dvd but that will help you if you have not been there prior.

Default use these

http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/...ghlight=plenum

Make sure you have a service manual. Take your time. When reinstalling use a proper torque sequence to the bolts on the plenum.
Actually once the plenum is off its pretty cool. Get a hand vac.
If you need help Pm me. If you need parts guys have them here instead of paying crazy prices.
On my car The dealership did much work like a complete gasket set, new main bearings, new starter. Didn't touch the secondary s. Go figure.
On mine I had to go deeper and remove the aluminum covers and replaced a actuator linkage. That cd you ordered was a good move.

[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]Ya mean like this?Ive got the Haibeck DVD,didnt think i was going to need it but it was really helpful as far as the little stuff, routing vacuum line and pressure checks on all the systems, money well spent. My advice to somebody thinking about it,take lots of pictures. And when you think you have enough, take some more.Youve got an excellent knowledge base right here for any problems that might come up.Mine kind of snowballed. When I found dirt, something else came off the car.I should have the car running by this weekend. Thanks to Jeffvette for all the info and my annoying phone calls

I put a piece of foam in the hole to filter out the crap while I cleaned it up.

When I first did this job alot of people were still scared to do it, There were however plenty of photos on the internet.
My car had a nasty oil leak so I pulled the complete top end down to the heads removed everything and changed all the gaskets and cleaned cleaned and cleaned haha.

Its not bad and If you have the abilities go for it you do not need marks CD but it cant hurt and I like Mark so if you want to help him spend some money and at least it would be good to watch before you even turn a wrench.

later

Thanks for all the great info, I spoke to Mark today and ordered the DVD. I have looked at all the cool sites and feel much better about the job.
