Oil Temp Sensor

I read through a few pages and found that the oil temp sensor not working will keep the car in valet mode.. I found that our oil temp sensor is broken (the plastic portion that the plug inserts too. Is this a dealer item only or can this be purchased at a local autoparts store and if so what would the part number be under.. I have not found it online in the traditional search method..
