i don't own a ZR-1, but lately i've been kicking around the idea of buying one. one thing i've notice is "fogging" around the front windshield. i understand this is somewhat of a common problem on the ZR-1's, so what do you owners do about replacements? i'm guessing a stock ZR-1/OEM replacement is near impossible to obtain. can a standard C4 windshield be used as a replacement? comments, comments, comments... TIA -
It is very common for the OEM ZR windshield to have delamination along the edges...you can see this on my 1990 ZR>>>
Since it is really on the edges (usually to the top area only) does not effect visibility...in fact from the inside you can not notice it at all. Really no pattern as to which ZRs get this pox... I have seen 1990s without the issue and later models with the same problem.
Replacing...unless you are a NCRS type the best/cheapest is to go with a standard C4 windshield... if not them be prepared to pay a very premium price (~$2K for item then + installation) of a OEM ZR version.
