Default Clutch replacement

Looking to replace the clutch on a 91 ZR-1. I was told the stock package is discontinued so what are you guys using?

Car belongs to my friend it is a driver and he just wants a nice street clutch.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Ebay and your local auto stores have replacement clutches that should work fine. Just be sure to make sure to measure the thickness of one of the bolt holes on the pressure plate at the store. The LT5's is a little thicker than the LT1's and people have reported that its a toss up getting the right one. I can't remember off the top of my head what the correct thickness is but I'm sure someone else here can help with that.

BTW, I replaced my clutch with one from Autozone and the PP was correct.

Mine is just a Valeo replacement......seems to work just fine. I replaced mine when the transmission was out of the car. Looking at the disc, I thought it did not have that much material left. Looking at the new one, they measured almost exactly the same with a pair of calipers.......just not much disc material there I guess...not even on a new one?

bought a valeo stock unit at autozone.found they have the best price and it;s identical to the gm unit. the pressure plate was the thinner unit . you need to buy different bolts for the thinner plate. i know carolina clutch has them.

Make sure you get the clutch for the correct year ZF6. Because the throw-out bearing, (release bearing), is different on MY 90-92 than on MY 93-95. They are incompatible.
