Yep, you will get backfire. The stock prom has extra fuel added for the cats and it runs rich. When you remove the cats and lessen the back pressure the exiting spent carge contains some unburnt fuel. This fuel builds up rapidly when you are under hard acceleration and let off suddenly. When this occurs you the unspent fuel in the exhaust will eventually ignite and you will get the characteristic backfire. This can be eliminated by chip tuning.

Must not be a problem for all ZR-1's w/headers as my car has never done it. I've been in a few other header-equipped ZR-1's that wouldn't,either. Strange,huh.
