1991 Rear shock question
So having trouble locating some rear FX3 shocks.
The question is what is the difference on the 92-95 rear shocks? Can they be used in place?
Thanks
Mike

In regard to applications of FX3 Shocks 90-91 and 92-later.......
You can't just change out the gear on top as entire rod needs to be changed due to the valving holes. You can use 92 FX3s in 90-91 Application if you upgrade to the newer controller and vice-versa.

Cliff is correct. The shocks for the 89 FX-3 equipped cars are the same as well. The early system FX-3 for the C4 was 89-91 and in addition to the top gears the internal valving is different. GC

What’s wrong with the rear shocks? If they are simply worn out, have them rebuilt. Apparently Bilstein no longer rebuilds oem shocks but other places do.

I have the receipt from the place I bought mine a few years ago. I wouldntbbother having them rebuilt if you can find new. I sent mine to a reputable shop and the guy tried to scam me. Ended up costing him a new set of OEM shocks.
