ZR-1 prices

I recently started pricing C6 ZR-1s.....Eventually would like to sell my C4Z and possibly pick one up...
Some are selling for half of what they were new...I believe new they were around 110K-120K......Seen fine examples going anywhere from 55K-65K in that ballpark, some even touching a tad over 50K..
That's the late model car market now and that's the way its going to stay...The C-2 and early C-3 vettes will always command a lot of money due to the era they were built ( Hence the time when GM was the most powerful company in America)....Now the most powerful company in America I think is apple...Cell phones,streaming,gadgets,whatever..
This generation is not into autos like the ones that grew up in the 60s early 70s.....The late model vettes I think will just keep going the way the typical used car prices will.....

As if driving one of the most beautiful Corvettes ever produced with its clean purposeful lines, matched up with a motor that is an absolute marvel to drive through the RPM range wasn't enough. People want high resale value too?
We looking at 2020 minimum before values on these start to bottom out. The "rare" LT5 and what to do if it breaks scares too many of the uninformed away. Any of us could of done real well by skipping the ZR-1 and putting money in the stock market years ago. These cars are meant to be enjoyed. Forget about these cars ever being worth much more than a regular C4 and just enjoy it. The ZR-1 return on investment pays in smiles not dollars. I make withdrawals from mine every time I drive it.

While I definitely agree with the pleasure in regards to ROi..... I think now with the new ZR1 coming out having whats labeled LT5.... the awareness of where the name came from will grow. That might spark a bit more demand and prices could rise.

I see Grand sports bringing more $$ than ZR1's due to LTD production and a cool color. I see others doing the same with the 2nd gen ZR1, plenty on e-bay with low mileage. But many cars are not hitting their MSRP's but are finally starting to move like R107 Mercedes and Porsche 944 & 928's. If you think Vette's are a bad investment, look at Caddy Allante's,

Just purchasd a 1990 ZR1 with 775 miles spent about $2,000.00 to fix lights, fuel gage, change all fluids. You can bet I plan on driving it every chance I get. One owner car out of Ohio clean car fax. I will get my money back from the fun of driving it. Just finished complete detail just perfect. Planned on driving it all weekend but it’s going to rain all weekend can’t have much fun in the rain...maybe next weekend.

I can't stand Vette prices in general. They all are depressed except for the pre-68's. I have owned a bunch of Vettes including a ZR-1 and even the last of the chrome bumper year C3's 68-72 have gone nowhere in the last 10 years!!!! Very frustrating. Even the 1970-73 Firebird Trans Am's have gone crazy in the last 5-years. I remember when people scoffed at them because of all the plastic wheel flares and wings and would go out and buy Camaro's by the bucket load. Then the Trans Am had its day. Maybe someday the Z will have its day. When all is considered it is a very special car for its time. Great handling and an advanced engine that only takes one computer and a few sensors to keep tuned perfectly.
I'd buy another one but the smog laws here in Kalifornia are so restrictive that it takes all the fun out of em...
Long live the ZR-1
