Default engine mounting

I have a 1956 Chev 2DR HT with a 1986 corvette engine. I would like to know if a LT5 would mount up. Also if a 700r4 transmission would bolt up

A LT5 will fit under the hood of your '56 Chevy.
Mounting it to a 700R4 might be a little more challenging, but probably not impossible. It's been done with 4L80/4L80LE, can't be too much different.
You will need a custom flex-plate made, but luckily there is a guy over at the ZR1 Forum who can help you out, his name is Pete, here's his web-site.

Good luck!!

The engine mount configuration is akin to the LT1 configuration in C4. This is different than the L98. Spacing maybe the same but mounts are different.
