I brought back to life A ‘95 that had sat for over 8 years. I followed these guys advice and replaced fuel pumps and filter, cleaned tank and injectors.

Then I decided to wash the years of crude from the engine and I fried the started because the valley drain was stopped up with loads of crud. So $550 and two weeks to determine that’s what I did and it was fixed and lesson learned.

Have fun, take your time, it was a challenge but it takes a lot of the mystery out of the cars after you get your hands dirty.

No doubt Rob...Several years ago, during & after my first plenum pull for coils, injectors and vacume actuators etc, on my 92 Z, I really learned allot. Not so scary once you get into them.

Default Zr-1

Two coils not firing, connections are clean, coils test good but 1-6 and 4-7 will not spark, any suggestions?

Check the plug at the back of the DIS module under the plenum.
It's common to bend the wires of the plug when trying to fiddle the connector back into the socket. Not a lot of room for error.

Default Dis

It's good, I removed it from the plenum and all pins are good,, could a bad DIS module cause this?

It's possible I suppose, but DIS failure isn't all that common.
I'd check with one of the real experts before I'd go hunting for a DIS module (they're nearly unobtainable and extremely expensive if you do find one).
I'll bet it's something a lot more simple than DIS failure.

But it could be and hence why they put it in storage. There has got to be a way to rule it out.

I’ll bet it’s the coils. Checking these coils is not a simple matter. Swap the coils to another spot on the tray and see if the problem moves with them. If it does it’s the coils. If not there’s another issue. Next most likely culprit is mice chewed wires. Frankly coils are cheap I would replace them all anyway given their age.

Swapped good coils to a bad spot and they fired or swapped the bad coils to a good spot and they fired?

Is that the DIS module under the plenum?

Yes very hard to find, that is probably why it sat all those years. Jerry’s Gaskets is working on a replacement, don’t know the ETA

plenum is off, I'm replacing all the coils, rebuilding the starter while I'm there, cleaning all the connectors and will try it again, thanks for the comments and suggestions
