Default ZR1/Daytona

I stumbled across this ZR1 / Daytona kit car. At first reading the title I thought someone turned a 72 ZR1 C3 into a Daytona replica. Then I saw the C4 dash and realized they meant a C4 ZR1.

Wow, that is a super cool car. Looks like a Ferrari but is a ZR-1 underneath

I remember when those were quite the rage (30 years ago), and even knew a guy who was building them. All were on a C3 chassis, though the C4 was out then. C3's were cheap, and C4s weren't....imagine that. It appears to be nicely done I don't recall ever seeing one on a C4 chassis, it would be neat to see how he did it.

That’s impressive. It would be perfect without the wood grain and stock black seats.
‘But. I’d love that car anyway. Wow

Wasn't that what Don Johnson was driving in the middle years of Miami Vice?
Yup.
Not a ZR1, but cool ride nontheless.

Mr. Ferrari got so pissed when they used the Daytona/Vette for Miami Vice, that he told them he'd give them a Ferrari if they would destroy it. Thus the scene in first episode of season 3 where they blew it up.

Picture is of Miami Vice Daytona replica built on C3 convertible chassis. C3 version is more convincing because C4 version is too wide to be convincing.
My personal opinion of C4 version is - as a Daytona replica, not very successful. However, if you look at it as a custom ZR-1 convertible, it's exotic!

I almost bought a daytona replica that had a 350 with a little b&m roots blower and the low profile injection setup that b&m offered

very cool car. one with an lt5 would be even better
