Can't speak for them. But I looked on Discount's website and it says they are available in both W and Y speed ratings. If you are interested in them I would ask about that. It says they offer both in the product info section.
Motivos are a "just above commuter grade" sort of tire. Not a performance tire really, unless your idea of a performance car is a Honda Accord. If you just plan to putt around, not a bad tire. They're not suitable for high performance driving, track time, etc. You wouldn't want to like, go run mountain roads quickly with them, but you also wouldn't be afraid of getting caught by a random rainstorm on the highway.
thanks, I have them on my car now.... the previous generation 555 extremes. 12yrs and now have dry rot and I don’t want to risk it even though the tread life is like new except there is some cracking...
I am going to try the Motivo’s and see. The performance specs are about the same according to the reviews. We will see. I do spirited driving on the back roads of NC yet I am also very conservative and respect the cars limits. I like the idea of not having to worry about cold mornings and the danger of summer tires in the cold. We will see...
they go on tomorrow and I will report back.
So far I am pleasantly surprised with the Motivo’s. Rainy day here in NC yet they provided better grip, much softer ride and are quieter than my 555’s. If fact, I am shocked how well the ride is in....even in performance mode!
I guess time will tell.
