Thanks Russell
I haven't been able to either this AM.
Can you use a 'derivative' of the VIN for registration?
This thread has most of the Registry information in a couple posts. It has 'derivative' locations etc.
The VIN stamping on the engine is found at the passenger side rear of the engine, stamped vertically. . The Engine number, which decodes to the build date, is on the side of the block on (I believe) the driver's side, just above the oil pan gasket. Here are a couple of pictures from my '95's engine when it was out at Marcs for the 510 package. If you enlarge the VIN picture you can barely make out the VIN stamping (#409). For a decode of the engine number you will have to search or eventually get to the Net Registry home page, as forget the specifics. Hope that helps. --Bob
