What color is the background on your gauge packages? I heard that calloways got white background on the tac and other gauges. Is this true?
I would really like to add white faced gauges to mine.

Paul,
There used to be a company who made 8K tach white faces but they don't make them anymore. I know Rippie used to sell them. I looked into it couple of years ago. I can use a face lift on my gauge cluster. Let me know if you find anyone making them.

1/4 mile times and gauge color
Hello again.
As far a quarter mile times, I have only tried once and had fairly unimpressive numbers. So first the excuses....lol. I had a hard time launching the car and could not get any good 60 ft times. I think the best was 2.3, which is not good at all. The rear tires are 325x30 18 inch(Mich. MXX3) and I believe the low profile part hurt me on the line.
I think the quikest I ran was 13.1 and the fastest trap speed was 115mph. With tires and practice I imagine I could do somewhat better. I would like to go back again and try again.
Again, this car has the Callaway Aerobody but the engine is for the most part stock.
As for the guages, mine are the normal gold color, the same as a normal 91.
Regards,
John Annon

trap speed is quite good and shows you are making power. put a set of sticky drag radials on it and the car will go deep into the 12s with a good launch. the pilots aren't much good at the drags but are a very nice tire.
you should be able to get a 60 ft down to below 2.0 which already has you in the 12s!!! I too haven't had all that much luck learning to drag the zr1.
it's a little trickey to get the launch technique down. try coming out at around 3500 and feather the clutch to get very light or no wheelspin.
it's very hard on the clutch but will get you a decent launch. with the drag radials, it makes a huge difference.

Wow! Pretty surprised to be surfing and see my car on the net.
I believe Jeff took these pictures at the Portland Oregon (Rose city) event this past summer.
I believe the Callaway body panels were not installed at Callaway. I bought the car about 4 years ago from a guy in Tucson.
There is no damage to the front of the car, I believe that was just shadow or reflection in the photo.
The wheels are what seem to get the most positive comments, but everyone has their own opinion. I do know they take time to keep clean. They were custom made by a comapany called Texas Precision.
I believe the charcoal metallic is a little darker than the spiral gray, but I have not put the two next to each other yet.
I have never offered the car for sale before, but I would sell it for $34K
It currently has 25K miles. It is mostly stock with only gears, exhaust and all the normal little things. I also just put in seats from a 96 which I like for the longer trips.
I would post better photos, but I do not know how. If somebody can expain a easy way, I will give it a try.
Thanks!
