Just curiuos, I was reading somewhere that ZR1's have an up shift light. Is that true? if so is it deactivated when a chip is used to defeat the 1-4 shift skip? Can it be turned back on and still have the 1-4 shift bypassed. TIA.

Yes, yes and yes. It is programmed to tell you when to shift for the most power, vs. the average car that tells you when to shift for maximum fuel economy!! You likely have a DRM chip - he removed the CAGS light, and the upshift light on his chips. It definitely can be programmed back in, as LPE did for me on my 368 - I was quite surprised to see it when it lit up, as I had never seen it before then!! Cags of course is still gone, as is the 1-4 shift light. :seeya
Can I order this chip directly from Doug? Is it difficult to install? The 1-4 upshift is bugging the hell out of me when I drive around town and try to avoid the "BlueHairs"!!! :cry
Just climb under your car and look at the left side of the trans. Unplug your CAGS (or skip shift) and use little zip ties to secure the connectors. Or even Mid America sells dummy plugs to keep the ends of the CAGS plugs clean.
No need for a chip just to get rid of the skip shift.
Yes indeed its a DRM chip. Ok I have the stock chip can I send it to someone and have the cags turned off, the fans programed for a lower temp and have the up shift light activated? Also does the DRM chip actually increase the HP at all? I have heard up to 15 HP with the chip and exhaust. Thanks Dwigtht looking foward to hearing about your adventures with the 415, that is the S H I T. TIA

Yes you can - check his website! Not difficult to install. Under the hood - just above the brake booster is your ECM. Unbolt it, flip it over, and remove the cover plate - bingo - there is your chip! Be careful not to static shock the chip while handling it, and replace it - quite easy! I agree with Ed though - if you just want to get rid of the CAGS itself, just get under the car - on the side of the tranny (driver's side) about half way back you'll see the connector for the CAGS - unclip it!! It is about half way down the side of the tranny too. Buy a sealer for the ends if you like, or zip tie em, or leave em dangling - this connector sits in plain view for a reason - so you can disconnect it forever, and not have to deal with that epa crap. Enjoy! :seeya

I don't know - some have said that it improves power very little. My car did 345 rwhp stock, with DRM chip and corsa - how much was chip and how much was corsa? I don't know, as I never dynoed with just the chip!!
Once I get the beast home, I'll post some pics, and impressions!! Might not be till August though! :seeya
I wonder if the chip I got from Mark takes out the up shift light. I always liked seeing that light hit me in the face when I got on her. You may get 10-15 hp from a chip but thats all. As Mark Hibeck (sp) said in bg, the point of a chip is to help you not loose power. Or something along thouse lines, I can't remember the exact quote.
My cags is disabled but The shift light comes on and the 1-4 shift light comes on also I notice them especially at night but Im used to them
Im just glad the 1-4 shift is gone I hated that thing! I had it on my Z06 pissed me off every time becuase what if you had to punch it at that moment..
so I just drove fast everywhere and no more cags problems.
