Thanks to all of you that gave me ides concerning the pulsing idle. I went to my mechanic riend and told him what was discussed on the Forum. He removed the MAF sensor and replaced it. It didn't have any oil in it nor did it have a vac. leak...at least I didn't think it did!
There was some considerable carbon in the air idle solinoid. We cleaned that area and the sensor out. Checked the interior of the throttle body and found some carbon there but not much. Cleaned it anyway. Started the car and lo and behold the same problem! HMMMMMMM!
Pulled out the MAF sensor again and noticed the vac tubing was some of that hard stuff that begs to be replaced. Went to pull off the hose and the steel nipple that is soldered to the intake came out with the hose attached. I wonder how many of you are searching for vac leaks and never thought to look here!
Used some titanium epoxy to reseat the nipple and re-attached some silicone hose to the MAF. Problem Gone!! WOOOOHOOOOO!
Thanks, Again for pointing me in the right direction. :smash: :yesnod:
MAP, MIP, MILF, you guys know what I am talking about! However, that darn problem is back!!!!!
I replaced the MILF or whatever you call it. I cleaned the throttle body and the idle air plunger (or MIP or MAF), calibrated the idle voltage, checked for O2 issues. But it still is happening. This only occurs when the wheels are rolling. As soon as the car stops, so does the problem and the idle becomes stable.
Ed - either you have a vacuum leak somewhere OR the plugs/wires/coils may be causing you idle problemo. Could you describe the problem in detail again? What does the idle do? When? Ever stall? Would like to know more details to attempt to help diagnosis. :seeya
Well, I know one dy I had a backfire and then the cars idle was horible, It also threw a couple of codes I cant remember what ones but one was for the milf :D and the other was for the O2 sensors, my vacum line had poped off the map sensor put it back on and the problem went away..
It very well could be a vacum line issue.
I bought a new set from Limey and I still need to install it.
but the car is working good right now but I am going to change it today just because.
