From my knowledge it has not been put on a running engine yet. Personally, I don't think it will see the light of day. 2 Things against it. Cost and the looks.

No doubt that your points are valid... Do you have any idea what price range were talking about here ?
Looks ? Well... Little hard to say on that issue imho... though it hardly resembles what is currently availible... it may turn out to be a good looking piece in the end... it looks similar in terms of what has been designed for the Northstar engine... its all subjective to personal taste...
Price ? Yea... I expect it will be a reach... a reach deep into the pocket... :D

My speculation, I'd crap myself if it came in under 3k. The volume ot get the price just is not there. High quality materials and craftmanship will keep the price up. And I'm not sure how many people will jump ship from the current looking intake for a few ponies that can be picked up with port work.
Just to add to the basic design information...
The designer has already redesigned the stock plenum for higher performance that has been used successfully on a number of modified LT5s...
Because he is / was a LT5 calibration engineer doesn't it stand to reason he might be able to create a "design advantage" based on his backround ?
IMHO... it is way to early to pass judgement on the design as we know it... especially since we really don't know much at this time...
A manufacturers design is "almost always" a compromise relative to all out streetable performance... How many times has Edelbrock re-invented the intake manifold ( wheel ) and suceeded with a superior design ?
Lets give it some time to develop... then pass judgement when performance criteria has been recorded...
Seems like more often than not... every time someone ask a question around here it opens a can of worms...
Does it really matter all the much where it comes from ? Were not going to alter the trade deficit here are we ? Go ahead and vote with your wallet... it is your right to do so...
God bless America...
Several have seen pictures of it already. No, it doesn't come from England, it comes from the US and it began life as a senior project of someone who was graduating in mechanical engineering.

Thanks for correcting me... I assumed the brand name mentioned here and on the cover was linked to the cover shot of the plenum... all I can say after reading the article is...
"looks pretty trick to me" :D

Re: Jeal Plenum... (Bigvmaxx)
In my mind, the intake looks similar in concept to that used by Lane Goldstein on his Fastlane ZR1. I also recall reading some time ago in a article/document about the future of LT5 development that the intake was an area for possible power increase on big hp LT5's.
While I don't own a ZR1 the Corvette enthusiast in me is very keen to see how things develop with this intake. :lurk:
Heck guys, just pull out your welder and make you up a sheet metal intake for heavens sake.
You try it 1st... ok? We know you know more about what works than we
( I ) do... :D
Iam lucky just to follow your lead... after that lenthy post about airflow the other day... it is obvious to me that creating a home built plenum is going to be way beyond what I even have a clue about... sure... you could fab up something that works with no R&D... but all that will do is confirm what a redneck does when my patience runs out...
