Does anyone have any info on getting a ZR through emissions. My 91 has no cats headers and a chip. I live in MD, and was previously exempt from testing because they were afraid to put low corvettes on the treadmill. I found out this is no longer the case when my wife took our 96 LT1 for testing. No treadmill but they did the sniffer test.
Well if it is going to be sniffed the only way to pass is to put on some cats. Random Tech makes a good high flow cat and they are pretty nice looking at that and they dont rob that much power.
If you have a car that is really good tuned, plugs wires working o2 etc it could pass. I had gutted cats and it passed all tests except for hc, but it was a close call. The right amount of E85 will help CO but could increase HC if add to much, you need to have access to test equippment. I would not experiment too much with different chemicals, it could damage fuel components o2 sensors etc. If your car is consuming oil like a bad valve seal car your HC will be too high. Always go to inspection with new oil and filters
Another way is to test with running airpump, but o2 wont like that and need to be ignored with simulated signals. I would not recommend anyone to break any law to pass a test......
