I am looking for the "Engine Power" (normal vs. full) switch of a 1990 corvette ZR1. The part cannot be obtained from GM anymore. If you have one, could you please e-mail me (o_stcyr@hotmail.com). Or would someone know where I could get one.... it seems to be a very difficult part to get.
The switch on the rear is similar to the switch on the older suburban electic window lift cylinders and we used to just transfer the switch cylinder to cylinder. I noticed it's similarity a couple weeks ago while doing an LAS replacement. I can research it a bit more but not until the weekend. Is this what your trying to accomplish just the electrical?
The retainer that holds the switch to the dash trim is the same part# as that used for the suburban window lift switch and likely the electrical aspect of the cylinder "might" swap.
Locate a part# 6259511 cylinder and compare the electrical device on the rear. It's not inexpensive but it may be a solution. I doubt the complete cylinder could be used. The retainer that holds it to the dash trim is part# 5713260 if you need that also. I'll not be able to do my trim removal this weekend.
If the electrical connector was needed any old rusty suburban thru '91 with a power window could supply the connector OR maybe even the electrical aspect of the cylinder for cheap!
My problem is that when I turn the key to the "Full" position, the key will stay there, but the engine goes back to the "Normal" mode. The light in the dashboard keeps on flickering between ON and OFF (Normal and Full). The only way to make it always stay at "Full" is to hold the key. So, I am guessing that the switch is busted and it's an electrical problem. The GM part for the switch is #14104646. However, I can't obtained it anymore.
Mine returns to the center position after turning the key to full. I believe as long as the green light goes on, your still at full power. Ill have to look at my manual.

Yours is a 91. We 90 owners have a light in the DIC that states "Full Engine Power". We 90 owners don't screw around!!
why don't you just install a 91-95 switch, they are still available but expensibe $231 list. or get a new prom, and program it to default to the power switch to always being on. my chip keeps it in full popwer all the time
