WTB: 92-96 Roadster MN6 in FL
Well, I just sold my Z07 Coupe. I probably sold it too cheap but now I'm in the market for a '92-'96 Roadster. It must be a manual transmission car. I thought I had found one, but it turns out that it was originally an automatic and had been converted - not very well.
I'm in Florida, near Daytona Beach. The car must be close enough that I can come to see it in person prior to purchase.
Let me know if you guys see anything out there!
Thanks,
Russ

Some people call convertibles roadsters. It's incorrect, I know, because the cars have roll up windows and a top. Maybe it's a hold-over term from the '53 models when you didn't have roll up windows.
The manual converted car I looked at had a light on in the dash always telling you the car was in park. It would start in gear because the car always thought it was in park. You couldn't remove the key from the ignition. The lower shift boot was missing, and the heat from the exhaust and transmission had melted the upper shift boot and portions of the console. It couldn't be driven because the clutch wouldn't allow you to get it into gear. That's just what was wrong with the conversion, I can't type what all was wrong with the car.

This looks like a great deal on an LT4 convertible in Florida, if it's still for sale:

This one's probably a bit too far away from you, but I could probably check it out:

Thanks! I sent a PM to the owner of the one in Jacksonville. We'll see if it's still around. The other one is too far away but it looks like a good deal for someone.

That sounds like a great car but after what happened over the weekend I'm not going to buy one that I can't inspect thoroughly in person first.

I went to look at another car today and found another basket case. How can a car look that bad in only 79k miles? Everything needed replaced - even the rear view mirror didn't reflect anymore. My truck with 200,000 miles isn't half as bad - and when my truck has 400,000 miles it still won't look that bad because I'll fix things.
