1995 383 LT4 ZF6 Corvette
I've owned this car for about 15 years. I bought it completely stock with 220k miles as an LT1 automatic. I cleaned the car up a lot and rebuilt the stock LT1 and drove it about 10k miles. The LT1 developed an oil leak and I decided to put the 383 LT4 in it that I was building for the Grandsport.
I bought a factory rebuild ZF6 and converted the car to a 6 speed, complete with a rebuilt Dana 44 with 3.45 gears.
383 LT4: The engine is a 6" rod forged rotating assembly (eagle with SRP pistons) with 10.85:1 compression using AFR Eliminator 195cc heads (competition port). Lifters are Crane hydraulic rollers made for the extra lift. The rockers are comp cams full roller stainless at 1.6:1 ratio. The cam is a Mike Jones Racing cam:
232/232 @.050".360"/.360" Lobe Lift.576"/.576" Valve Lift 110 LSA
The exhaust is 1-5/8" coated long tubes from exotic muscle going into a full 3" B&B system. The oil pan is an EM road racing pan. The engine is cooled by a Dewitts radiator. Ignition is an MSD optispark with MSD coil, wires, and 6AL box.
Power is transmitted through a Mcleod Street Twin with a steel flywheel for the internally balanced engine. The driveshaft had new u-joints at the time of the 6 speed conversion. The halfshafts are Denny's "nitrous ready" shafts.
Brakes have less than 10k miles. Drilled rotors (AC Delco) and AC Delco pads. Brake fluid was flushed when the brakes were done.
Interior: The carpet was replaced during my ownership and has very little wear. I have a spare leather seat cover that is used, but better than the installed cover. I put fat mat under the carpet, but with the 3" exhaust its hard to tell anything is there. The headliner is loose. The tach is an LT4 and there are no issues with the LCD display. The backlights in the radio and ac controller do not all work. The car had non power seats, but I converted to power driver and passenger seats. The AC is cold with all new hoses and orings.
Reason for Offering for Sale: The cam is a little nastier at idle than I really wanted. I have ordered a new cam, but I'm not sure if I want to go through all the work to swap the cam and make the car more daily driver friendly. My next post will have photos. PRICE: $12000
