FS 84 Corvette 4 spd in MD
My father in law gave my wife and I the Vette and I honestly have no need or interest in keeping it. I don't know a whole heck of a lot about it, and have only put a few miles on it driving it from their house to my garage where it has sat. It has 82,274 miles, new tires, brakes, shocks, seats and steering wheel. Heat and AC work, only thing I noticed is if you turn it up to high it doesn't work but setting 1-3 work. Head lights pop up and work as they should. Car ran and shifted fine, e brake needs adjusted it doesn't hold the car very well and the light on the dash stays on (think adjusting the ebrake will take care of that as it does go out when I pull up on the handle so it's not the switch). Has an aftermarket radio which works. Could use a paint job, has some bubbles/flaking in a few areas. Car has a cover and some spare parts in the hatch that go with it.
Honestly not sure what to ask for the car, doesn't seem to be many out there to get an idea on the market obviously lol. So I guess I'll start off at $3,000 obo. Car is located in Baltimore and I'd rather a local sale, I'd be willing to drive to meet a reasonable distance. Thanks guys.

Its a very presentable car. Where was this back in April when I was specifically looking for an 84. Ended up settling for an 86 4+3 but wanted an 84. Is the car a Z51 car? Are there any issues with the overdrive unit?

Overall it's not a bad car for it's age, it's definitely a "20 footer" though. I honestly know very little about the car, I don't believe it's a Z51 car but I'd have to do some looking to find out and have no clue what to look for at the moment lol. As for the overdrive unit, again, i don't think there were any issues. I drove it less than 10 miles and knowing nothing about what 4 + 3 actually was, I didn't pay attention to it. It drove and shifted good but I had no clue that it actually shifted into an overdrive in each gear so I wasn't watching for that.

Best of luck OP! I have the same car in almost the same shape with 74K miles and just asked for offers. Haven't gotten one yet. I'd ask to trade since I wanted a red Corvette and mine is white but you're clearing space so.....
It is what it is I guess. I've seen 84 C4s on Ebay is decent shape for $2K and they're not selling. I guess everyone is hating on our Crossfires?!

Behind the driver's seat on the underside of the storage bin's lid is the RPO label. Look at the three digit codes there and you will know if it is a Z51 as that is the option code. If the label is missing, you can look on the front spring and there should be a little silver label with black letters "BMB", indicating its an 84 Z51 spring.

Personally, I love the L83! I was in the market for one this spring with a 4+3 and settled on my 86 4+3. While I like the 86, its not the 84 that I wanted. I'd love to make an offer on this car, but with Christmas around the corner, I think my wife would have my nuts in a vice. I have a car for sale and some nice BBS wheels and selling those would give me some much needed wiggle room. If that were the case I'd be calling the owner of this car and arranging a pick up at the airport.

I was going to keep the Camaro since it is a newer car, a better car and still more practical with it's joke of a back seat but considering I cant get anything for my C4 I might as well keep it and finish the resto. It doesn't have much left anyway.

You'd have to really want the car to justify shipping it. I think it would make a cool first car but I agree shipping it is kind of a stretch. I'm sure you could find something local.
Happy holidays guys!

There's no sticker under the storage bin lids other than the instructions for the spare and changing a tire. Other than getting under the car and looking for a sticker on the spring is there anywhere else that the rpo sticker could have been placed?

Yeah no kidding! C5 market is much better. C3 market is great. C4s, well I guess they did have the longest run of all. I need to get rid of one car either my C4 or my 2010 Camaro because my wife is gonna pop in two months and I need to buy another car to fit the car seat scam that is the car seat itself.
