1986 Red/Gray Auto 36,000 miles
I purchased last April 17' with 34,370 miles on it. Now shows 35,871 The car is a beautiful example of an early C4. 99% original and in excellent condition. If you want a car that needs nothing and is 100% ready to drive, this is the one. If you're looking for a $3,500. C4 to fix up, please move on. I promise you will not have to do anything to this car, not even an oil change.
There are 2 things on the car that do not operate. The seat lumbar and the tape portion of the radio. Other than that, all options are working as they should.
Car has been garaged its entire life between me and the 2 previous owners. I am in Colorado. You can PM me for my phone number if you'd like to ask me anything or just chat. I can pick you up at Colorado Springs Airport if you decide to fly in and drive home.
There are no leaks, no engine or transmission/drive train issues at all. no smoke, no knocks, no ticks, no oil burn smells, no problems period.I do almost all of my own work as a retired mechanic.
Reason for selling is because I want a ZR-1 again. I had a 92 and want another....Once the heart of the beast is in your blood, it never goes away!!
Paint 9/10
Interior 9/10
Engine/Under hood 9/10
Underside of car 9/10 (You wont find any grease or oil anywhere)
Suspension condition, cleanliness & Appearance 9/10
Tires near new Sunitomos in ZR-1 sizes a few hundred miles on them
FR Chrome A-Molds rears are new fronts appear new (no peeling or pitting of the chrome)
All wheels/tires Road Force Balanced
4 Wheel Alignment 300 miles ago
I have the 4 OEM wheels with very good, but older tires
4 new Bilsteins last year changed due to age
New M/C, pads & brake hoses, fully flushed system last year changed only due to age
Valve cover gaskets replaced last year with $70. .25" blue neoprene
Coolant flushed (the right way) with new knock sensor and new coolant temp sensor
New GM front/rear emblems
Complete Tune up, Taylor wires, Distributor cap & rotor, NGK plugs,PCV & fuel filter (K&N)
Replace entire fuel pump in tank assembly
Brand new NOS GM outer window sweeps(old ones had weather cracks)
Cooling system was replaced several years back by previous owner (rad, pump & hoses)
Transmission was rebuilt by previous owner. It was removed for a front pump seal leak, and it was decided to just go ahead with the whole rebuild while it was removed. Shifts perfectly.
Other things worth mentioning:
All the weather stripping is in excellent condition and does not need replacement
Passenger side under hood lamp assembly was replaced with a good used GM part. The contacts for the bulb were loose and the light didnt light sometimes when the hood was raised.
Hatch Struts were replaced with a good used set.
Exhaust is all stock except for the Flowmaster 40's and nice slant cut chrome tips that were on it when I bought it.
Air Conditioning has been converted to R134A
$11,000.

I can't believe you're selling my car's twin. Beautiful car, GLWS and finding that ZR-1.

3 quick questions:
1 picture looks like sport seats, and 1 picture looks like standard leather seats...?
Do you have any original docs with the car ?
And why are you not here in Mass. ?
Thanks,
Mark B.

As far as original documentation, I only have the owners manual. But, I do have a folder full of receipts and records of maintenance dating back to the early 2000's.
The seats are the standard leather. I can take better pics if you'd like.
As far as living in Mass... I got nothin' Shipping is always an option which is how I got the car to me.
Thanks, John

Just wanted to answer a few questions that I've had PM's on.
1. Has the engine been painted?.... No.
2. Is the body paint original? The rear and front bumpers were repainted several years back by the previous owner, other than that, all other paint is original.
3.Are there any tears in the driver side seat bolster? Some wear, but no rips.
4. Does the car have any interior leaks? No.
Feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Is there any chance you could snap a quick picture of the RPO codes and post it ? I think they're under the glove box ? I keep coming back to this car as exactly what I want........V/R Mark

The picture of the seat in post #1 shows a conventional leather seat. The pictures of the seats in post#2 show sport seats with the bolster and lumbar controls.
Thanks Gary

Its a great example of an 86, extremely clean. Going by the latest pics it looks like they are sport seats.
