Love the purple. Look's like Hib Halverson's #140 sold a couple years ago. Mileage matches up and all pictures match (including antenna on roof), except signature on engine appears to be gone now.

It was posted on this forum as well. Heck of a car with a rich pedigree!

Same here. I tried over a week ago but never heard back. I think the seller is waiting for a “cash in hand” response. I was honest up front and said I would be doing a loan to make it happen. Sucks because he was only an hour away. Good luck.

Loan or no loan, it's still cash to the seller. Maybe he thinks there are no loans for older cars but I got a personal loan for one at 48 months, 2.99% last year (credit 800+). Had cash in 48 hours.

I tried reaching the seller via his Craigslist ad email a couple of times with no response regarding the purple zr1. My stepdad is about 2 hours away and wants to drive over and check it out for me. I guess my email sounded like a scam. Was hoping to get a phone number so that I could call the owner personally to setup a weekend visit. My stepdad is a car nut and even ran a racetrack and sold performance parts for a few years back in the days before we had internet. He said that if it checked out and I for some reason didn’t buy it, my mom wants it. So two potential buyers but no reply from seller. Any chance you can reach out to the seller and pm his contact number? Thanks!!

If I had to guess, I don’t think the owner really wants to sell the car. It may be a spouse that is pushing them to clear out some space but this way they can leverage that the car has been for sale and no one wants it so they can hang onto it.
There’s a Z for sale here in Jacksonville craigslist that has been up for a while. I reached out to the guy via phone, text and email and never got responses back. After a little searching I found an extra number for the seller but it was his wife’s cell. She said he’s definitely selling the cars because she was pressuring him to do so and would let him know when she got home that I called. Still never heard back from the guy and he keeps lowering the price in what I’m guessing he can show her and say, “see, I drop the price on it and it’s for sale but no one wants the car”.
Just a thought on this “for sale” ad.

Ah that completely makes sense. Honestly, with my excitement over car shopping, I didn’t think to think of it from a car seller’s perspective, especially one who didn’t want to sell but was being pushed into it from their other half. Thank you for the insight.
From my perspective, the wife has told me “sure honey, get yourself a car, just try not to spend too much more than $xxx ok?”, so when something unique or nostalgic (or both) pops up (like a purple c4zr1), I get flustered to not hear back from a seller. Especially since I’ve cash in hand and permission to fly out and purchase and to make the road trip back “so long as it’s only a week honey.” Oh the joys of marriage
Makes sense why it’s email only. One can simply click “delete.” “No honey, no serious buyers yet or anyone who wants to take a look, so I guess I’ll drop the price a little to get some more interest. But you know how much I’ve invested into it over the years. Can’t take too much of a loss can we? Hope we find a buyer soon. The market is tough on these old cars you know. Maybe we should just keep it.”
My old boss had a polo green over tan c4zr1 in decent shape, and he used to let me drive it occasionally about a decade ago. Man that car was fun! He actually sold it during the tough economy years about 6-7 years ago, and I wished I could’ve afforded it back then. He put a Craigslist ad for a fire sale at $13k and it sold that night. I remember other zr1s were in the $20k plus range. I was so bummed. I almost called my dad and asked for a loan lol.

Oh nice! He’s finally got a number posted. Awesome! Hmm will have to make decisions. Bought a 2004 Sti that was one owner in beautiful shape and have fallen in love with this turbocharged pocket rocket. But it is Christmas soon. Thx for bringing this to the top!

I haven't followed any ZR1 auto conversions. Just went to the ZR1 sub forum and see this thread - https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-modified.html
Any estimate on the minimum number of C notes? thanks
