1993 ZR1 Black on Black
Looking for a ZR1 and I've narrowed it down to a 93 due to the interior dash design VS the 94-95 and the fact its the 40th anniversary. Anyone have any leads on one? I'm having trouble finding any. I know the majority were ruby red so its a little more rare to find black on black but there's gotta be one out there. Please help!

No pictures anywhere online, unfortunately but it should be in pristine shape if the owner went through the trouble to add a CF hood. The shop manager wasn't aware there was even a for sale ad up for the car. They have an interesting dynamic together... Manager was a nice enough and he explained to me that he had to talk the owner down on the price to 25k area because he was asking "way too much" for an old 90s car. Original owner complied and down the price came so sounds like the owner trusts the manager's judgement on moving the car. Downside is you're working with a middleman on someone else's car. Manager said it's just collecting dust in storage at their shop. If someone is in the Pompano Beach area that can verify it for you, could be a great score for you.
I was morbidly curious about it so I called one day. I believe he said it was black on black. Here's the link to the business site:

They may have extra numbers on the website and they also may only be open Monday through Friday. Even if owner won't come off the 25K-ish price, that's a good deal if it has a legit CF hood and the original hood as well.

So I called the guy in Pompano Beach last week. He gave me the e-mail to the owner who lives in Turkey. I sent him links to some examples of what ZR1s are currently going for. (found the cheapet examples I could find of course, including the 91 you checked out at AutoNation) and I was able to get him down from 25k to 20k. I drove down this Saturday at 5am and drove her home 4 hours north to Largo FL! Thank you for helping me find this gem. It does in fact have a carbon fiber hood, Porchse Brembo brakes, Flowmaster exhaust, performance chip, the original rims, two tops, and an extra rear hatch. The only problem I could find with the car was it wasnt going into full power mode. The secondary vacuum pump isn't engaging. I'm wondering if the guy sold it because it didn't feel as fast as his other cars. Apparently hes extremely wealthy and lives in a huge mansion. That's what the owner of Auto Tech and Body told me. This was his first sports car and he bought it new in 93.

That could be the case but even if there was a bypass wouldn't the secondary pump still need to activate for the system to work? When you turn your key to ON but don't start the car do you hear the secondary pump run for 5-10 seconds?

Oh and congratulations on your Z purchase! I seriously considered a few 91s I came across but I need traction control for all the rain in this state. I used to own an 89 firebird and it would always slide around in the rain, but my 95 Camaro had ASR and it gave me so much more confidence in a downpour.
