I'm trying to sell my 2005 Pontiac GTO for the same price that you're asking for your Z. If I can sell my car I will definitely be giving you a call. Unless you have an interest in trading for a '05 GTO that has just over 7,000 miles and a modified LS2 engine (cam, headers, dyno tune).

I love goats but I'm only selling specifically so that I can put the cash into fixing up my '73 with my dad. Even after we get'r done my next project is restoring my first car, grandma's '88 Monte Carlo SS, so taking on any other car that doesn't immediately further those goals just aren't options. Thanks for looking though and good luck!

Great looking car and the price is just right for someone in the market for a clean Z06........
Stick to your guns the car is worth every penny and then some....

22.5k would be a decent deal on a plain jane 2004 Z with that mileage
i really wouldn't be surprised if it sold on ebay for 22.5k if you listed that as a min bid
car is priced right. any less just gives someone room to make money on flipping it
in fact a black 2004 with 90k just sold for 18.5k in my neck of the woods and that car was only listed for 2 weeks. half the miles and a 16 for 4k is a pretty damn good deal

Thanks guys, sure makes me feel better! Never thought about ebay, kinda weary but I'm going too look into that. Any pointers regarding that? I can't believe I've only had one (1!) guy come by to look at it, and that was for someone else out of state. Still getting lots of $20K offers but I just can't give it away. The only reason it started that low was because I hadn't had the window motor & mirror fixed yet, and now they're taken care of. Just gotta be patient. . .
In other news, we took to building horse drawn carriages as a little retirement job for the old man and we're dangerously close to finishing our first chuck wagon. I'm afraid if we get one or two of those sold I'm going to keep it or have to jack the asking price up just on general principle

with ebay make the terms clear, cash or wire transfer only, in person and verified, no cashiers checks or other potential risks
i've sold a few cars on ebay and all were in cash
just make sure to use wording in the ad to let people know it's not BS, list your phone number, invite buyers to call. when a deal gets made offer to meet them at the dept of motor vehicles or wherever they are comfy. basically do all you can to come across 100% legit and set payment terms will keep scammers away. you would have to be nuts stupid to pay for a car in fake bills. the secret service would hunt you down.

Dick,
I'd update your Autotrader ad. I saw it when it first came out and you had no description. Right away it made me think the deal was sketchy, because it was priced low for a Z16 and had no explanation. And I didnt think to call you because it was so far away for me I didn't want to make a long trip and be dissapointed. Now that you've been posting on corvette forums, I think my first impression was way off, and think it was foolish not calling you.
So anyway, point is the first impression you give on the Autorader ad goes a long way. Let people know your story and the cars story.
Good luck! I think we are all cheering for you

Joe- Have you looked at it since I updated it a few weeks ago? I went ahead and edited it again tonight to say how much mileage I think is left on the tires and that the mirror had been fixed, but should I put more of the "why" info?

agree, first impression is everything. list your phone number, details on the car, carfax history
the more secure you can make the buyer feel the better
22.5 is lower than usual for a z16 so people naturally wonder if it's a scam or not
