Default Looking for cammed or full Bolt-on z06 budget: $23k

Looking for a lightly modified z06 as I'm not yet familiar with corvettes and would like to start out ahead of the game. Also my first time posting on any forum ever.
Preferences:
1. Exterior color- Yellow, black, or red
2. Under 60k miles
3. 2001 - 2007
Not in a major rush I'm waiting on my lease 16 sti to get out of the shop (few days) to trade back in....damn ringland failure.

With that budget, you could probably find one with less than 40k miles. Also, all C5 Z06's are fixed roof. Unless someone went through the trouble of converting it to a t-top, you won't find one.

I figure that was the case but I was holding on to a sliver of hope. Thanks for clearing that up for me

Welcome to the forum Kelby, since it sounds like you are new to C5's here is my .02 that may be worth .00

You have a very healthy budget for a C5Z (Should you still want a fixed roof car). In my opinion you will pretty much have your choice of cammed/bolt on Z's if your willing to go the full 23k. I had a 02 Z a couple years back that I sold and am now in the market for another one. The C5's are in a weird spot price range when it comes to selling. Most traditional banks wont loan on one so there goes a large chunk of buyers. Another large chunk is lost by the falling prices of C6's (which a traditional bank will also loan on if its a 2007+).

A couple years back it took me quite awhile to sell a 02 with light mods and 31k miles and the prices of C6's have only fallen more since then. You may find guys with low mileage cars asking 26-28k but notice that those cars stay around awhile without movement. A person would really have to want a C5Z to spend $26-28k because another $7k would get you a C6Z with fixed heads.

Here is a stickied link for the valve spring failure that is pretty cheap to fix.

Best of luck in your purchase and just ask if you have any questions.

To follow that up, you could definitely get into a low mileage cammed
LS2 (pre 2008) C6 with that budget also. Unless fixed roof is a must. C6 prices are dropping really low these days, but I have always preferred the C5 over the fixed headlight C6s. Just another thought.

Don't know that I want to sell it but I've learned that every car I've had is potentially for sale for the right price. I have a nearly bone stock 17k mile MY C5Z with brand new Nitto tires which I bought in March this year. I have put a SLP Blackwing CAI on it but other than that totally stock. I would entertain selling for $24k.

I'm tossing around the idea of selling mine. The build thread is here on the forums and here is a link to the for sale thread I posted yesterday on CL

This might be a possibility: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c5-corvettes-for-sale/3851074-modded-2002-z06-for-sale-in-nj.html;

Or maybe this: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-for-sale.html

Not really modded, but appears to be a nice one: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...niversary.htm
