Dang wish this was around few years back when I was in the market - no offense, but it is ALL show NO go lol?!! Mine is the opposite - would've been sweet to have STARTED out w/ a car in as nice condition paint/interior/exterior w/ the wheels/custom body work/side skirts etc.

GLWS!!!

JKappel,

She's still very pretty. Perhaps when Spring brings in the nicer weather, you might change your mind and keep her.

We have three Vettes the two C5's are pretty much all original - at least performance wise. Drivers, and def not any sort of racing.

You had previously written a desire for Black wheels. I much prefer polished aluminum wheels of a Vette. So here's a few photos of the C5 thin Spokes that I just stripped off the clear coat and recently had powder Coated Black on my '37 Chevy Coupe build

I love these now Black wheels on this '37. Tires are Nitto NT05, note the smaller diameter compared to the Michelin's, needed for the rake. The wheels clear the C4 Spindles, barely. I know the black is very difficult to remove, SO I'm keeping to back up C5 wheels in reserve.

Good luck, either way.

Michael..

Saying this car with a stock engine has "no go" seems a little extreme. It's still a Z06 with more go than 99% of people need.

Regarding the current wheels, my opinion is that they make the car, but lots of different wheels would probably look good on that wide body.

I appreciate the offer but I love my current wheels. Just wish they were black

Thanks for the kind words, the stock engine to me is more valuable than a H/C/I Z only because I know no one has ever had it apart. Who knows who's had their hands on it once it's been opened up. Spent a while looking for this exact setup which was somewhat hard to do as most cars with these types of visual mods usually come with the engine modifications to match. I've had fully built vehicles and problems to come along with them. A motor never goes back together the same way it did when it left the factory. I'll continue to enjoy turning the key to an immediate startup after a few months of storage

Figured I'd provide an update. Over the last several months of sale with this car I've had a handful of offers. Some that I chose not to take due to not really being pressed to sell it. During this time those offers gave me some great feedback and while I don't have those conversations saved anymore, I know all of the offers came from the forum as that is the only place this car is listed for sale. That being said I'm doing one price drop and if the car does not sell soon enough I will likely keep it.

Price drop will be $24,500 not a penny less. Hopefully that will save a lot of interested parties time in asking where I stand on pricing. That is my bottom dollar and if it does not sell then it was not meant to be sold.

If anyone is interested in that price feel free to reach out to me. The car is in great condition for being almost 20 years old and as the pictures show it has very little flaws. The engine runs as good as the exterior looks. I will leave it up for sale for a bit longer and we shall see what happens. Will also update the main post to reflect the price change. Any questions once again feel free to reach out via text as I will respond the quickest there, otherwise PM will suffice.

thanks, Cheers!

I meant in terms of the mods - pretty much all geared toward aesthetics/comfort etc. not straight performance mods, & I agree nothing wrong w/ that as the car is quite stout outta the box, I should know!

Default Sale Price

jkappel

Oh how I fully agree to your minimum sale price. !!

Every Summer I get these Stupid offers at Street Rod events for my '56 210 (also LS1, T-56 upgrades &..), or my older Corvette Convert. It is insulting for such obscene offers, from Grown Men..

My Replies have changed to,,

She's not for Sale, But I might consider a cash in hand offer for $15K over My insurance companies agreed value in writing.

The Cash in Hand usually Shuts up the Smart Ones. The few that ask for the insured value,, about Faint.

You've got a Beauty, accept no less.

Michael...

It's a great car and will keep me happy for a long time unless sold, then it will definitely make a new owner very happy as it has for me.
agreed this is a very clean build

Thanks everyone. Finally got rid of the brushed stainless look of the grill grates. Will likely have the wheels professionally powder coated, matte black center with gloss black lip. Once that happens there's no reason to sell it.

The badge was an OEM C7R badge I got ahold of on ebay, I'd imagine the black Z06 and C7R badge are the same because I can't seem to tell them apart.

Same for the emblems on the fenders. Link below but I got the ones with the red "405 HP" lettering. You'll have to browse ebay a bit but they make them in every color

well.... Wheels are off and out getting redone. No sense in selling the car at this point. Thanks for everyone's support throughout this thread on various topics including sale price! That's why I love the forums as opposed to facebook market which in my opinion is the worst. Now just wish all this covid nonsense would go away to get the car season back underway!

thanks again!

Well there are worse problems than having a '03 widebody Z06 siting in your garage. I think you made the right decision with keeping the Z06. I have considered moving on from my Z06 (also a widebody with extensive performance and cosmetic mods) but never could go through with it...
