Just bought a y2k triple black 6 spd 1SC vert w 18,000 mi for $30K form a local dealer. I've been watching prices for about 18 months. This is my second Vette, the other was a '54 I traded my Harley for just before going to Viet Nam. I don't really care what the prices on C5s do. It's the car I wanted and plan on enjoying the heck out of it.

Sure you can wait another year and the prices will be lower, but you'll have lost a year of enjoyment. Now I get to choose between my 67 GTO vert, my 03 Harley Road King and beautiful black Vette.

if i had 50k to buy a car i'd never spend it on a new or even near new car.
If you want a c5 why get a new 04 for ~42k or a used 03-04 for... dunno 35 or even 30. get a 99 or 98 with 20-30k miles for a mere ~25k and call it a decade.
20k miles is nothing, and the cars found with that kind of milage and age are the ones papmered

and you're saving 15k
you're also losing a lot less when you resell after a few years
well if you dont care about money and you have tons of them,
go ahead and buy 2 of them or better yet, buy a lambo or porsche

I guess it depends... I always like new because of the newness and the full warranty. There is something to be said about owning a car that just came off of the car transport carrier...

yes but if you save 15-20k by getting a used one, you can buy extended warranty for the rest of your life:) hehe
new cars are never worth it, but that's just me.
or you can buy 2 used ones for the price of a new 04.
what happends if you crash it? new car's value will drop as much as your jaw will drop when you find out. 20k used one? not more than a couple of grand, maybe 3.
04's will sell for less than half their price in 5 years (20 grand), where 98-99's will sell for... well... not less than 14-15k i suppose so you only lose ~5k or 25% of the price you got it.... besides, its not a civic, its a vette, how much more can the price drop.

I also looking for a 2000-2001, yellow vert auto,with low miles, it seems these current owners are in denial about pricing.i offered someone 32,000 for a o1 vert with 6000 miles and he told me forget it,now i'm wondering what would be a good offer on a yellow vert auto, all stock,no bose,20,000 miles ,guy is asking 32, im thinking 28 tops. good luck on all hunting patience will find us the right c5 at the right price..... lenny

if i were you i'd start sending out emails
find the ones you like, send them your best offer and include your phone number.
tell them that if they agree on that price to call (not a buck more than that)
dont be afraid to lowball, its just an email. if they dont like it they might as well delete it

There seems to be a lot of 02 z06's about on e baynot fetching reserves e.g. under 10k miles 02 MY for around $34K .
Any reason for this they seem cheap to me ? :confused:
