I have a Vortech S Trim, What size pulleys would I have to use to get 10-11 PSI of Boost on a Stock CR LS6??
This is not a post to hear about what 10-11 PSI of boost can do to an LS6 , but to find out which pulleys. I have decided that I am going to go with a little more boost with the Alky.....If you're Gonna Get wet, might as well go swimming!
It depends on heads and cam set up, headers intake etc. I use the 28 tooth SC pulley with the 32 tooth jackshaft pulley. This set up with worked heads and cam, headers and intake give me 10 to 11 lbs. I have upgraded to a T trim which will be installed next weekend. Should boost a bit more.
I don't have any experience with the Vortech setup, but, out of curiosity - what size pulley are you running now and how much boost is that pulley making?
I thought I was running 28/30 myself..I guess I could be wrong, I'll have to check. My boost gauge only read 7lbs, but when I had it dynoed before the winter, they hook it up to some vacum line and it read 9lbs. I am adding the Alky, and figured I could get an extra pound or two safely.
Sam.
