Default alky injection

say I have a maggied c5 ,,would there be any benefit to installing a water/alky injection if there was NO plan to increase boost?? I want to use it to keep the motor clean and keep KR way under control.
Do I need to retune if I did not increase boost and used a 50/50 mix??

this would be boost controlled, max 5 psi boost....

what about storage issues, water freezes so I know it would need to be drained. but what about leaving alky in teh system all winter, will it cause harm to the pump and stuff. will the pumps and noids corrode setting dry??

how do you store a car with these systems..

I have found systems, and ready to buy. But need to know if it will be helpful, maybe later I will do a pulley change and then I know I need to retune..but I really dont plan on it, plus I dont want to rely on the injection to keep me in tune.
help me out gurus

If all you're looking to do is keep the engine clean and control KR, you might want to consider using straight water rather than a mix. This will certainly work very well since you're running very low boost anyway. If you only shoot a small amount of water you likely wouldn't even need to retune.

Regarding storage, it depends on the system. I wouldn't allow straight water to sit for obvious reasons. You could put WW fluid (which has 10-30% methanol in it) in the system to solve the problem, but not all systems are compatible with methanol. You could also drain everything. I would just follow the manufactures recommendations...

Yes, the reason would be your plans will change!

Just kidding, but I'm wondering if one reason might be it adds safety to the margin of lousy gas and change in weather. I know with my Maggie that with a more aggressive tune it would run fine most of the time, but mix an extreme weather condition, especially cold, along with some lousy gas, and I could get some ping at high RPM. So far, with the alky kit I have not experienced that at all. Summer is coming, so she'll get a big test tyring to make it through the heat and humidity.
