Default ECS alky kit install tip

When mounting the nozzle, keep it on the upper side side of the air bridge. If it is mounted on the lower side it will be lower than the washer tank which will allow it to syphon the alky down over extended periods. It has to flow threw the pump, filter etc so it is not a great deal of flow, but it is enough to couse a rough condition upon start up. Plus I feel it is better to allow gravity to drop it into the airstream rather than push up into it.

I've been having a rough condition on startup lately. I'm not sure what it is, and its not really a big deal. It does always start up, and after a few seconds everything is fine. I'm going to send you a picture of how mine is set up and see what you think.

Doug, Since I was trying to be a little upstream from the nitrous this is where I mounted mine. Do you see a problem with it? It would be tough for me to go on top of the bridge because of my cut out hood also. Thanks, Eric

I have personally tryed it that low so you might have to just try it. Maybe if you raise the hose up buy your nozzles it might be just enough to hold it. The hose going down after that raise would be so short that it might not have enough pull to couse a syphoneing effect.

BTW, That looks like a stock tensioner, I would deffinatly recomend updating your tensioner to an intercooled style tensioner if it isn't.

Bought the I/C tensioner from you guys last week and just got it on I'll try to put the line up a little higher.

Thanks, Eric

Forget intercooled tensioners -- all of the import guys who are 'in the know' use CO2 sprayed tensioners. Intercoolers are so passe!

Mine is installed on the bottom of the coupler right before the Maggie, and it siphons a lot of alky to the ground. I took some rough vertical measurements and the top of the windshield washer tank was in the range of 29" while the location of the bottom of the coupler is only 26", thereby likely explaining the problem (I haven't changed it yet).

From your picture, it looks like your location may be about the same 26" or so height as where mine is located, so it might not work out. But, you never know until you try.

I installed mine just above the parting line of the coupler and about 1" closer to the engine so it's a little higher then yours on 2 planes.
I have a definite problem with hood clearence since I'm running the stock hood with my ATI.
However it doesn't seem to affect the performance any as the guy with the black 04 Cobra found out last night, when the wife and I were on our way home from dinner. He kept taunting and I just couldnt resist!
So we had a little snake for desert
