Supercharger Pros/Con

I'm presently driving a 93 Vert and plan on buying an 02-04 coupe next year. So I'm already planning mods. (my wife thinks I'm nuts) I don't have any experience with Superchargers and would like an opinion of either going with a supercharger package or heads and cam (for about the same price around 8K) to gain HP. I'm not looking to drag race but just would like a little respect on the street.

Pros/Con on the supercharger.
Questions:
Does the new hood limit visibility?
Is it annoying?
Is the supercharger noisy?
What does it do to the integrity of the engine? (I noticed that you get a 36K mile warranty with the supercharger and only 12K with the blueprinted engine.)??

The superchargers are noisy . Go TT i did !

What are the intended uses of the car? Street, road racing, drag racing, garage queen, what ? Do you want a loud car or a quiet car? Is this a daily driver or a weekend toy?
It's VERY easy to spend tons of money on things you don't need. The more time you spend up front trying to decide what you want the more you will save in the long run (by not having to change your setup several times).
Good Luck,
Mark

But you are probably right. I'm just getting exited about the thought of a C5 and all the mods available. My present car is (BLACK) and more of a garage queen , I want the C5 to be a daily driver and not worry about the wax job.

I also noticed that most C5's for sale have some minor mods.
Does the new hood limit visibility? No. It looks a little different but I don't notice that it limits my visibility. Take a look at my Corvette Photos if you want to see some pics of the MCM hood.
Is it annoying? Not to me.
Is the supercharger noisy? My car is having the magnuson installed as I write this post. I dropped it off at 21st Century Muscle Cars on Friday. One of the reasons I went with the mag is that it is quiet at idle. I don't like a noisy idle. Of course, at WOT it gonna have the supercharger whine...which I do like.
What does it do to the integrity of the engine? (I noticed that you get a 36K mile warranty with the supercharger and only 12K with the blueprinted engine.)? I'm sure its tougher on the engine that not having the SC installed. But from what I've read/heard, the Magnuson has been proven over the years to be a reliable setup. I went with a 21MC head/cam package last year, and I'm adding the Mag to that setup.
FYI, mdhmi makes some good points about developing a plan to get your Vette to the performance level you desire. I made a couple of mistakes on my head/cam package but not too bad. I ended up not liking the aluminum flywheel and the lopey idle of the cam. So, during the SC install, I'm switching to a stealth/blower cam and having a steel flywheel put in. It will cost me a few hundred dollars extra...but live and learn.
Have fun!
years to finally determine what was right for me. My setup is quiet at
idle and has that great blower whine when I leg the throttle. I like the
way the hood looks better than the stock hood and do not find it
annoying at all.
I think that my engine will last a very long time with this setup, but
I usually drive mine on the street with the occasional spirited run. I
would like to take it to the drag strip just to know what it is capable
of doing, but probably will not make that a regular event.
Lots of fun, right for me and still very dependable and streetable.
I like to drive it, not wrench on it. FWIW take the others advice and
drive the one you buy "as is first" to help you determine your needs
and wants.

Up here in Canada , you get respect just being seen in the car. Not many on the roads , especially when its in the range of what you pay for a viper down there.

The only overheat issues we have found is with the stock ATI kit. Several of them actually
