Default power hungry!

Hey guys.

My head is in a major spin at the moment. I have one big question! At present i'm restoring my 69 L71 and have driven a 68 L88 race car. and loved it! needless to say i love my big block cars. I am definately buying a ZO6 in the later part of next year. just love that FRC body. Anyways, my question is, given that i am used to big block power what is that best perf/tuning/induction mod i can do and be happy with? given that i have a BB i'm trying to do something different than big cubes, i was hoping to go SC or TT or just T. which of these would keep me happy and content? from what i read SC's are more of a headache and lack power/torque compared to a TT and the T's i don't know much about. what is the price difference between these three packages and which cost more engineering and install wise?

thanks so much guys. all this is new to me and any info would be greatly appreciated! i don't want to go down the wrong path because living here in AUS makes things so much more expensive!

my choice would be a maggie or KB blower with all the bolt-ons you will be putting 500/500 to the rear wheels, with a rwtq curve that is flat from about 2800-5500rpm. 500 rwtq is fun at 2800 rpm's lol.

Sounds like you have a few fun projects on your hands!

Have you identified a mechanic/tuner that you can take your Z06 to when you're ready to mod it? Don't forget that putting your car in the right person's hands is as important as the parts you pick. If you have any doubts, go with something mainstream and simple to setup/tune like a Magnuson. If you have a killer tuner who's done lots of FI C5s, then nothing beats the low end torque and fun of a TT.

TT hands down. Package options will likely be much better another year for now.

thanks guys,

finding guys over here that have a good enough knowledge in C5's alone is hard enough. I do have some very fanatical engineer friends who would be up for a challenge. they build motorbikes and engines from scratch and i'm sure that this would be a walk in the park.

This is just so hard. i don't know if i'm being negative but i'm trying to wrap my head around all this information. you have so many tuners to choose from who all offer different products/kits or have the same products/kits but are different in there approach. i sit and read the C5 FI/N forum and my head is in a spin.

do both SC and TT need tuning often?
better to build up bottom end/stroke?
heads and cam? =to what extreme?
over-heating a prob with both SC and TT?
true that TT wears engine quicker than SC?
at this point in time, what products are the best and what will i expect to pay?

please try and relieve this headache. lol!

thanks so much.
