8 Rib set up for Vortech?
Does anyone have or know about an 8 rib set up for a C5 with a Vortech supercharger? I have heard some people say that they think they saw a C5 with a Vortech and an 8 rib set up , but I can't get any details. It seems like there might be just enough room to get an 8 rib set up in there , but I'm not sure how much clearance there is between the head unit and the 6 rib powersteering pulley. If anyone has any info on whether or not this can be done and/or where I can get all of the pulleys needed please let me know.
jbsblownC5 has an 8 rib system... although his Carroll S/C system may be different than what you have. Contact Andy @ A&A as he has supplied 8 rib system to both Joel (jbsblownc5) and I.

I do run an 8 rib on my Vortech/ Modified Carrol setup. From what I hear, if you have Vortech's setup, It's very hard, or next to impossible to go 8 rib.
sorry

I have looked at my car, trying to figure out a way to run and 8 rib, It won't fit. Also, why do you need it? To be honest, I was just gonna look into it to make the chances of a belt break less.
Oh, I will also tell you guys that I have fixed the Vortech Squeaks, and it cost me about $3!!! and my time...(2 min)

I can't stop the belt from slipping when I shift from 3rd to 4th. It's costing me at least a tenth or two and a couple of MPH when I go to the track. I also think that I might have a problem with my blow off valve because I keep jumping the belt on gear changes and it doesn't appear to be an alignment issue.
Your Serpentine belt is slipping? How would you know? And if it was, So what?
Your Supercharger belt is a cog drive. Unless I am wrong and you have a way different set up. Your cog belt shouldn't slip.
Vortech’s have two belts, a cog and 6 or 8 rib serpentine belt. The cog belt should not slip, it can skip (if too loose) followed by shredding.
The serpentine belt can slip just like on Procharger installs. The Vortech as a general rule operates at lower RPMs which means there is a higher torque demand, thus requiring more traction/friction from accessory belt (6 or 8 rib). The serpentine belt is weakest link in this design and governed by same rules as other supercharger designs.
