Same boost, more grip, more power???
Finally got a new 8-rib belt (Auto Zone Kelly-Springfield 897K8), and put the alternator spacer on the bottom of the alternator instead of the top (big difference). Now with the proper belt and tension (tensioner at 1/3), I have 10-12psi (close to the same boost), but noticed a big increase in SOTP power. Haven't had it tuned yet, it seems to be running rich due to the new headers. But the car is much 'jumpier', and I get tirespin at will.
What's up with the same boost but more power with better belt grip?

Nice to see your system is going forward for you. When I had mine set-up at 16#'s it seemed as though it was running on an extremely sharp edge--it was just jumping at the slightest throttle input. My greedy side loved it but the practical side stepped up.
Now that you've installed the 8 rib I think that you've finally eliminated the initial belt slip and probably increased your torque also. So, how are you going to deal with the new loss of traction issue?

I still have the Nitto 305DRs on, and someone told me it's not wise to have rear tires stickier than the fronts, so I just put Nitto RIIs up front. Today I'm moving the MAF against the throttle body, and moving the BOV to the upper pipe where I can keep an eye on it and maybe a muffler (oil breather). I also hope to be at Vette Magic in Sacramento tomorrow, at least if things go smoother than they have been today. I'm sure Andy will just smile at my work and encourage me to buy his professionally made products.
