Default Vortech SC owners

I have a 01 Coupe with Borla shortie headers and B&B route 66 catback with a new S trim Vortech system. With a 3:15 rear axle ,it is only turning 13.29 at 105.5 in the quarter.Sngery in Fremont ,Cailf just did a turn-up to weeks ago,the dyno show 405 hp at the rear axle and 395 touque pounds. There felling is that this is about as good as it gets with package. The mid range power is great but thats where it ends.Does this sound right for the rest of you?

There is something severely wrong with your car if you are trapping at 105 MPH with a blower. You should be 120+.

Any other symptoms?

Did you maybe get an LS6 kit? they have a larger blower pulley [34T] which would reduce the boost a little, but still, you should be making at least 450RWHP.

Do you have a boost gauge? Please give more information if you can se we can help you diagnose.

This was the first thing I thought. Who did the install, or did you buy the car with the blower already on it? Take it to a reputable shop that's familiar with the Vortech package.

When I had my Vortech kit it put 501 rwhp to the rollers. I had headers and a Blackwing in addition to the supercharger.

The car in this trim ran 12.5 @ 114 at an altitude of 4900 feet. That corrects to about a 11.7 @ 121 at sea level using the NHRA correction factor of .9393 at the track that I run at.

There us something very wrong with your car!

You have a major problem. you need to get that car to a reputable shop ( Reputable with Vortech's I mean) The bolt on kit with the Tune in a can that comes with it should make high 400's RWHP before any tweaking. And as far as 105 Trap speeds, thats slower than your car should be in stock form!

I agree, my Vortech T-trim is giving me 121mph at 4900 feet in elevation. RWHP is just over 530.

Heads and Cam only car at altitude was running 109 mph at 13.2 seconds.

Do you have an I/C on the car?

Something doesn't sound right, not at all.

@2004 Vortech SCQTrim - 538RWHP. Thats before the meth injection, seems to have more now but I haven't re-dynod or changed anything since meth. I love it!

I am at a loss as Vortech says that this package should produce 494hp at the crank and 473 touque and if there is a 15 to 20% loss for the drive train than these numbers are right. At the drag strip which was Sacremento last weekend in the 80 to 90 degree temp with stock run flats at 32psi rears this was the best I could get 13:29 at 105.5 and 6.5 boost. I know the tires may be a problem.

Get it on the dyno and check the tune and boost.

I've run 133 MPH in the 1/4 with my T trim.

It should put out 7.5 psi if it has the LS1 pulley. Like I said, find a shop that knows what they're looking at.

Most of the people running the S-trim will see at least 450 RWHP even with out headers if the car is tuned properly and many of us with better heads, headers and some other goodies are running more than 500 RWHP. Unless something is wrong with the car or blower, I would guess that the tuning has not been done right. There is a reason many of us Norcal guys have made the long trip down to A&A. The real red flag that somthing is wrong is where you say you don't have a lot of top end. With this blower the power should build exponentially as the Rpm's go up.

WHO CARES WHAT THE FACTORY SAYS!!

Your numbers are off. Take your car to a reputable shop and have it gone through. If you are running out of power up top something is wrong.
