Default clutch ?'s

Ok so i feel the best clutch you can get is the exedy twin disc, but its 1800 ....I was looking at cheaper ones and stumbled across the spec clutches. for 500 bucks you could get one to handle 680 hp, but how are they does anyone know what they are like? also does anyone know anybody with the twin disc exedy? and how does that preform?

You can get a MUCH better deal on an Exedy Twin than $1,800.

EarlH was selling his for $1,300 (I think?) and it was new and in the box. You can also check with Xcerlr8 (Jon) for a discounted price.

Good Luck,

Mark

Yeah i heard about the aussie ones but the twin disc seems like it could handle 750 hp easily and my plans are for my car to be there eventually......plus It takes less pressure for twin to grab then any other clutch...

I like my Exedy Twin, but $1,500 is totally unjustified. When it goes I'll toss in an OZ, RPS, or whatever happens to be the 'clutch of the century' at that time.

Cheers,

Mark

I am not a vendor anymore but I could send you to one of the companies I deal with to get you a better deal. Doubt its better than Earls price cause he is trying to get rid of his. Nothing wrong with his it was never used and it was a warranty replacement from Exedy.
As long as your not doing a lot of drag racing I am sure it would work well for you.

Spec clutch is only $500 but after you replace it 3 times the other clutches become real cheap....other good choices include Luk and Ram.

There is no 'best' clutch. Like everything else in life, no one best for every situation. Last week the best was Exedy, this week it's the OZ, next week it'll be something else.

I love my Aussie though, great price and I put down over 750 hp and over 800 tq to the wheels @ the track. No chatter what so ever and drives great in traffic.
