I took my car to track and it was popping ,belt slipping ect! I checked my ltft and they were at 25 the stft were at 19.43 also timing was 23 degrees at idle ! So the problem I'm having is I'm changing to A&A bracket single intercooler right away ( I have the kit in the room) The car was tuned by Ed Wright throught a mail order tune ( because the closest place that does tuning is in NC and I'm in West Virginia which is about 6 hours away) Ed is telling me to get it on a dyno and give him all the ltft and timing curves and he can fix it by this through the mail :
, would this be a good idea or should I bit the bullet and that it to nc? I know if it keeps this up then it will blow up my car!!!!!!!!
I think it would be easier to install a WB02 and hook up a data-logger. I would do your long distance tuning with Andy @ A&A (if you have his kit) or some other shop with extensive experience with FI.
I am in Knoxville, TN, so I don't know how far that would be for you to bring the car, but in this situation, paying someone a few hundred dollars and taking the car to have it tuned properly is much cheaper than the thousands you will spend to replace a motor.
I can give you a price via PM if you are interested.
Why would you do a mail order tune with forced induction. It is imperative that you take your car to a company that does dyno tuning.
You mentioned NC was the closes place to you. You probably are talking about True Blue. It will be well worth your time to drive the 6hrs and get it tuned. It will be unbelievely at what they can do with your car. It also will give you peace of mind that your not hurting your car.
Good Luck.
I have been in WV to run at the track there (the name escapes me at the moment) and it only took 3 1/2 hours or so to get there and ECS is only 1 1/2 from me - call it 5 1/2 hours, but I am sure it will be well worth the drive....
