Default 100 shot dry! Help

I think I am going to add a 100 shot witht this kit.

I think I need a TPS switch instead of the WOT switch Since the Torque Management on the Auto closes the throttle valve even at wide open throttle.

If you only use a WOT switch under the gas peddle does the N20 still keep going during the shifts? Isn't this BAD for the engine? The throttle valve closes during shifts correct?

Can I use the arm switch to activate the N20 after I am in second gear since I don't want to hit it in first?

Someone said this is bad for the solenoids if you do that.

Any more info? Can't wait!!

I am in South Florida BTW if anyone wants to give me a ride in this N20 car

Use a RPM window switch to prevent spraying through the shifts and if bump the rev limiter. I had mine set to 3000 (on) and 5800 (off) and no issues

How can it bump? I have an Auto.

So you sprayed through first as well?

My stock tires cannot handle that I don't think.

I have nitrous on my auto I have the window switch on my car 3200 onand 5800 off. you will be spraying in first when you hit 3200 rpm or whatever pill you choose and it will stop spraying at 5800 I believe the auto shifts at 5850. I bumped up my rev limitor with the hypertech programmer but I did not install the power tune. my time was pretty stock car with 100 shot dry was 11:87 @ 117 60 foot was a 1.9. the window switch is a must in my book do all the safety Items you can i have msd window switch and wot.

Brandon! Wonderful!

A couple more questions if you don't mind.

Have you sprayed with runflats in first? How was the traction?

Do you have a 3.15 axle? I run 12.5 with a Vortex and am shooting for 11.5.

I am also going to rid myself of the TM with Ron Z's help. I don't know anyone on the forum who has done it yet. I wanted before and after times.

What system do you have? Dry/wet NOS NX et

Who did the install.

Thanks!

BMN makes a window switch that has a 1st Gear Lockout Feature. I cut and pasted this from my post on this same forum:

The best option might be to get that BMN Window Switch with a 1st gear lockout. The standard "TURN ON" can be set (2,500-4,000) and "TURN OFF" (5,300-6,800).

Thsi way it WONT spray in 1st and will only come on in 2nd gear at your pre set rpm range

I ordered a digital MSD Switch Friday, but might have to change my order to a BMN just for this reason.

I was going to get a NOS 05177 Dry Kit, but went with an NX Wet Kit.

I have the nos dry kit I am not sure the actually # I got it second hand. I have a 97 c5 I believe the axle is 2:73.The run was on drag radials I still spun alittle. the install I did myself, I have hooked up a nitrous kit before in a grand am gt I dont think it is too hard just follow the manual. my the mods are as follow. knn twin ram intake 160 degree thermostat borla exaust with x pipe no cats lowered drag radials and the hypertech without the tune. I live in new orleans so the track was petty much sea level. As far as you getting 11.5 on 100 shot with stock tires may be hard but good luck if I can help any i will the best I can the window switch is easy to hook up

Your right..... rev limiter not an issue with A4....I did spray in 1st initially but then made a custom shifter *** with a button. Would then engage after 1st to 2nd shift. I used an MSD but it did not have a 1st gear lockout feature.

I would do something with the rev limitor as someone said earlier before the window switch was in if you are spraying through gears good way to mess up the tranny also there is a very good chance you will bump the rev limiter when the tranny shifts on spray. Id be safe with it.

Here’s what I’m worried about:

The tranny shifts right past 5800 RPMs, when it begins the shift to the next gear, the window switch will deactivate the nitrous at that point. BUT will it leave the nitrous deactivated long enough between shifts for the next gear to be engaged before it comes back on at 3000 RPMs?

yes, say you install a 3000 chip on and a 5800 off your car shifts at 5850 the nitrous will kick on when your rpm hits 3000 it will shut off at 5800 shift and come back on when the tach hits 3000rpm. I hope that helped

OK,

Here is the scenario.

Lets say I have my Switch set from 3000 to 6300 rpms.

My car shifts at 6400rpms.

After the car shifts the tach is at 4500 rpms.

The N20 will shut off at 6300 but will it come back on the second the rpms are lower than 6300? Won't the car still be in mid shift ?(auto)

well my car when I shift it drops below the pill i have and then picks back up when it hits the 3200 rpm switch. so in your case yes i would think you would have to find where your car shifts at like what rpm it falls down to and put a pill init that is right above that. I dont have that problem with my car so I cant tell you for sure on that one what to do if you are worried abotu that say your car falls to 3300 when it shifts then put a 3400 in it.

Brandon,

Thank you VERY much for helping me out!

Do you think it sprays while the rpms drop for that split second during the shift?

Hey Brandon-

I bought a 99 w/ a 75 shot already installed, w/out a window switch. I am going to be in New Orleans this weekend and would like to take a look at your setup if you are available.

Thanks.
