Default Cam Question

I have finally decided to install a cam. With my current mods I'm at 383RWHP, how much additional HP/TQ will this cam give me now and how will this cam be later with either a procharger or NOS set-up?

Cam spec's 228/230 .590 113LSA or 114LSA

Any input would be appreciated, thanks in advance

You might want to keep the Z06 cam. It will work quite well with a P1SC. The P1SC will make big H/P with your current setup. The power you will be adding with the P1SC will put you near the max without forging the bottom end. The money you save on the cam swap will help keep the cost of the P1SC more palatable. I had A&A Corvettes install the P1SC on my 04vert. and it scoots.

That cam will work fantastic with a Procharger...way better then the stock Z06 cam.

I know you have an 04, the valve springs are the best that were offerred from the factory on a C5. I would go ahead and have those changed out when you decided to FI. They are fine for NA now.

Stay with the 114lsa...it will be better for the blower..however not a whole hell of a lot of difference at 113 vs 114 LSA on a 110 ICL. The lower the LSA the more the power band shifts towards the mid range.

That cam will give you about 30-40rwhp with your setup.

The LS6 heads from the factory flow better than a Stage I LS1 head. I have used at least 4 different cams in LS1s. The cam you are talking about using is not too much different then my cam..which I have used for NA, SC, and now 2 different TT systems. The cam you have selected is a great cam and I would not hesitate to use it for any application.

Not wanting to hi-jack, but Ive just ordered a 230/236 0.590/0.598 112LSA +4 from Thunder for my LS1 + Vortech YSi combo....

How does that sound ?? Its replacing a LPE GT2-3, which I feel isnt working well at all for me.

Thank's Kevin,
So I should go with this cam and not change
any of the spec's ?

And later when cash is flowing buy the P1 or D1 from Andy?

I want to mod in stages so, I don't break the bank

Thanks again,
Mike

Hi Mike,

Go with the 114 LSA or even a 115, but definitely not the 113, this is if you are going to use the same cam with a procharger.

Like Kevin said, the stock Z06 springs will be good for now.

Remeber, I have a ported throttle body for you. install this all before you get a tune.

Mike,

I would wait then and do a forged 402 short block with 10.5 to 1 when you are ready. Do everything else now, like headers, massive cooling, save $$$...Pop for the clutch setup when the engine is out.

Very very important to plan.

Carl,
I was hoping on keeping this cam when I pro-charge, I think I am going to replace the springs and push-rods now, I will call Synergy and see what I'm getting.
Thanks for the Throttle body, I need to hook up with you, maybe a sunday cruise

See Ya,
