First, is one better than the other for use on my 'Vette. Should I use a WOT switch or a TPS switch?
Second, if I decide on the WOT switch, how and where is it mounted for use on a C5? Is it somehow mounted under the gas pedal and the pedal ativates it when you put your foot to the floor? Where exactly would you mount the switch to get this to work correctly?
I have the TPS switch. I like it and have not had any issues with it. I considered the WOT switch but my installer didn't like them because they are installed under the gas pedal and there are potential for issues such as carpet/floormat/trash interference according to him. Also, I have a Digital Window Switch which is very compatible to the TPS switch signal and provides better reliability of system activation according to my installer. I hope this helps, if not I would call TBYRNE, a supporting vendor who sells and services a lot of nitrous kits and ask for help and advice. Also, they have always provided me good service as I have made several nitrous equipment purchases with them and they provided prompt and courtesy customer service and product delivery. I could not get my TPS to work so I went with the WOT switch. I used the NX "purge" button (included with the genX 2) under my pedal and it works great. No chance of carpet effecting it. Here is a picture of how I mounted it:
You basically take your pedal stop out, drill the top for the switch mount and secure it. Qucik and easy!
