Default Procharger?

I am wanting to buy a procharger for my stock 99 A4 since it looks like it is one of the easiest puffers to install. My biggest concern is detonation with the stock compression that is pretty high for boost on gasoline! I know Procharger advertises there system on stock motors, but I would feel better hearing it's OK from someone that isn't selling the product, and has one on there car. Anybody here running boost on a bone stock motor, having any detonation problems? And what about the stock Head Gaskets!!! Anybody blowing them? 91 Octane is the best gas around here. Nothing higher at the pump.

There's hundreds of people that run Procharger's on stock motors....including me. A good install, tune, and a good fuel system is the key to keeping your motor together. I'm currently at 550rwhp/515rwtq on my stock LS1 and no problems......I've had the blower on my car for almost 2yrs.

Agreed... I have an A&A P1SC kit on order. Assuring 60+ psi of fuel pressure and a good tune seems key.

I have installed a Racetronix fuel pump and wiring and am installing a 1997-98 Fuel rail/system so that I have 60 psi at the rails...

Well said

The issue with Procharger is not the head unit but the brackets. That's what has propelled A&A (and ECS) to the forefront in this market. Just don't get greedy with the HP and you'll be fine. I run 91 oct. and 18 degrees timing and no knock.
