Default Superchargers

Hey everyone have a question to ask on a stock 2004 Zo6 running with the Ho intercooled with the p-1sc-1 (6psi) or the Stage II intercoolded with the p-1sc-1 (7+) which one of the two is the better choice.

And also i was told the procharger with the the 6psi will work with the stock fuel pump, and stock head gaskets. While the new Stage II unit with the 7+psi charger unit is recommeded using a higher fuel pump upgrade and a thicker head gasket to something about lower the the compression if I heard right ?

Is this true and what have been the experience with these two unit have people have in the use of them ? Thanks getting ready to spend the hard earned cash just trying to go with the best choice first thanks!!!!!!!!

I think you can run 7# on a z06. It critcal though that you have a your tune right on. I would advise a fuel pump on ANY FI application. Its cheap insurance. 300 or a fuel pump is alot better than 3000 for a new motor.

I ran the LS1 pulley on my Vortech'd Z for over a year at 7.5psi with no problems. I had stock CR and heads. The tune is the most important factor. I was running just a boost-a-pump at the time and my pressure was rock solid. I even did a few DE events with it in summer heat and it ran like a top. Might as well do the pump while you're at it though.

I would go with the Stage II option, as the intake to the supercharger is a much more efficeint design than the Stage I. It is advised to get a fuel pump (racetronix), I think you should be safe running the stock head gasket. You will also want to pin the crank, these instructions can be found on Andys web site. And most important, find a good tuner.
