I thought I'd try Torco instead of blending 105 race gas with my 91 octane stuff to get 100 octane at the 1/8 mile track last night. I don't know how it works but it seems to work.
I ran 24 degrees timing at WOT & 7 lbs boost with no KR with one 32 oz can added to about 9 gallons of 91 octane CA gas. This is the tune I usually use for 100 octane race gas. I even stepped it up 1 degree and still no KR!
For reference, this is on my 2004 MagnaCharged LS1 GTO.
Sorry, it's not a 'Vette. But I lurk here because you guys are about
1 1/2 years ahead of the GTO forums on FI.
Heck, it may be cheaper to run pure Torco pretty soon.
Seriously, it does work.
It's funny, but a shop owner joked around with me the other day about running low octane in his car and mixing in a can of Torco to get it back to high octane, due to the high cost of CA gas.
JB- can I run Torco in my Honda CR250 dirt bike......will it mix in with the 2 stroke oil OK?
I got through to one of the techs, who said it would be just like running high octane in your bike. I'll double check with the the main guy tomorrow...
JB
2 strokes really don’t care, you would be amazed what I ran in my YZ250, CR500 and snowmobiles. The 2 stoke oil is non issue as well, it mixes well with just about any fuel.

Is this stuff better then tossing in a gallon of Xylene? From what I understand it's near 117 octane and a lot less ounce for ounce then Torco. The Xylene has no lubricants so you can't go crazy with the stuff though.
