I wasn't referring to Tbyrne, they list some solid parts in their assembly. I was referring to my last purchase, I deferred expertise instead of researching the parts. The results didn't turn out like I had hoped for.
i wasn't insinuating (sp?) anything i just wanted to mention the fact that they ARE using forged parts - but many in the F/I, Nitrous arena say to use callies or lunati instead of eagle - and eagle is what tbyrne has in theirs - not knocking them AT ALL, that's what i put in my build for my L98 shortblock i built!
That's going to be difficult to find IMO. The new cranks are fitted with the 58 tooth reluctor wheels which will not work for you. They can be swapped for the 24 tooth wheel, but I'll be surprised to see many shops wasting the time/effort to do so.

I'm pretty sure the early ls2s (05-06) have the 24 tooth wheel with the E40 PCM. Cars with the E38PCM will have the 58x wheel.
The 24 tooth wheel should be real popular since there are hardly any PCMs out there that can deal with the 58x wheel.

Maybe i am mistaken, but i thought he was referring to the stock LS2 crank that comes with the short block of a stock LS2 motor (but i guess maybe he meant using his stock LS1/6 crank?)

My son got a cast iron block 408 with all forged internals (eagle crank, Justin pistons) from a place called Hoprsepower Engineering in Houston, for about $3600 complete. It's done well in our 98 drag Camaro for sometime now and seems bulletproof in the very high nines so far.

That's pretty impressive and congrats!!!
A few questions please:
1. how much boost he is running on the motor and if using N20 how big of a shot?
2. What power adder is he using?
3. How much rwhp is the car making
4. How many quarter mile blasts would you say on the motor?

I believe the answer is no, but will the LS1 crank fit in the LS2 block? I recall that the design is different.
My new broken shortblock has been back at TSP for a month, I'm wondering if an LS2 would be a better bet for a swap to a 'next' car.
Just found out there is a tool for changing out the reluctor wheel with a 24 tooth. So you colud use a factory LS2 crank with aftermarket rods and pistons and have a nice forged 6.0L without the extra $1000 cost of a forged crank...
