D1SC vs. F1R
I am debating to switch my D1SC to a F1R....... Will like to get some input from owners that have had the D1SC and switch to a F1R.

Its the difference between a gradual spool up and a swift kick in the nutz. The D1 comes on kind of weak but spools up hard and pulls all the way to the top. The F1R comes on strong (violent) and pulls like a freight train till you let off the throttle (or you pi$$ your pants)

Burning Brakes
I just noticed on ATI's web site that they changed the step-up ratio on the F1R from 5.0 :1 to 5.4 :1. That should make for an even bigger difference in power ramp-up. I don't see the F-1C on their specifications page any more.

What would you have to do to your engine to run an F1? Could you do it on a small cubed forged block or do you need a bigger one?

With an F1R you MUST have a forged motor and Run 8 rib pullies.

D1sc/f1r
I have a D1SC in my stroker Motor (383), with the D1SC I get 12 Lbs. with a 3.85 Pulley.
If I get the F1R, I would adjust the shift points down about 300 RPM......I know the pulleys on the F1R's are also different size than the D1SC

The F1R, good God.... 8 rib for sure, and maybe an extra support to prevent bracket flex. Is this a street car? The F1R, even at idle sounds like a 747 taxing for take off. I had one on my drag car (68 Camaro 10.5w w/540cid) It ran in the 8's, mild cam, head and blow through carb, at only 15 lbs (Which came on as quick as a Roots or Twin Screw style blower...NO LAG).. Very serious blower. Good Luck...

I'm going nuts right now trying to figure out which one to get. I'm kinda waiting to see what the KB is gonna look like price wise.
Since I have 100 octane avail to me I was thinking about trying it with that as well.
